About The Position

AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking a qualified Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, TX. The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications, reviewing medication therapy, counseling patients, collaborating with healthcare providers, supervising pharmacy technicians, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, DHA, and military pharmacy regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
  • Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 1,500–2,000 hours of pharmacy experience, including at least 500 hours in a retail or institutional pharmacy, completed within the last two years after training.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Pharmacist in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia. License must remain current and in good standing throughout the duration of employment.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacology and medication therapy management.
  • Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and patient counseling skills.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy regulations and controlled substance requirements.
  • Ability to supervise pharmacy technicians and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency with electronic pharmacy and health record systems.
  • Must meet all DHA/CRDAMC occupational health requirements, including required immunizations and annual health screenings prior to and during employment.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain required background clearance, Common Access Card (CAC), and complete all mandatory DHA/Army security and HIPAA training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmaceutical services within the scope of clinical privileges granted by the Medical Treatment Facility.
  • Perform duties in accordance with contract requirements, DHA policies, and applicable pharmacy regulations.
  • Review, verify, and dispense prescription medications safely and accurately.
  • Counsel patients on medication use, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Monitor medication therapy and collaborate with providers to optimize patient care.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and ensure the accuracy of medications prepared.
  • Maintain controlled substance records, pharmacy inventory, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in quality improvement, medication safety, and pharmacy education activities.
