About The Position
Under limited supervision, the Pharmacist performs professional clinical pharmacy work of a highly skilled and specialized nature at the Central Nebraska Veterans’ Home in Kearney, NE. This is a salaried position with the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited school of Pharmacy.
- Applicants must be licensed to practice Pharmacy in the State of Nebraska
- Knowledge of the principles, terminology, and practices of clinical pharmacy; state and federal laws pertaining to the practices of clinical pharmacy; the classification of drugs according to their action, use, and dosage; and drug therapy.
- Ability to prepare, compound, and dispense medications accurately, communicating with physicians, nurses, and other health care staff.
Responsibilities
- Dispense to each nursing station prescription drugs and medications; maintain proper and complete records required by law and the Central Nebraska Veterans' Home.
- Ensure that all prescription drugs and medications ordered by the Physicians for each member are dispensed in timely and accurate fashion.
- Available as a pharmaceutical consultant to health professionals and non-professionals.
- Assist with the drug regimen review of each member’s chart monthly or as required.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
- Assist with the education of Central Nebraska Veterans' Home staff in areas concerning pharmacy.
