About The Position

Red River Co-op is recruiting for the position of Pharmacist. This position will float between our Winnipeg and rural locations in Niverville and Selkirk. This position offers flexibility and may be available as either part-time or full-time, depending on candidate interest and availability. The Pharmacist provides patient focused services and professional advice/counselling on prescriptions and over-the-counter medications, and health related issues to patients. They develop and maintain strong working relationships with health care professionals in the community to ensure optimal patient care. They also provide oversight to Pharmacy Technicians, and Pharmacy Assistants in the delivery of medication, advice, counselling, and assistance to patients.

Requirements

Possess a valid pharmacist license for the province of MB, be in good standing with the College of Pharmacists Manitoba, and have no practice restrictions.
Possess strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Possess strong, independent problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Preference given to individuals with at least 2 years of experience as a pharmacist.
Previous experience with Kroll pharmacy software is an asset.

Responsibilities

Provide patient focused services such as injections, medication reviews, and minor ailment prescribing to maximize patient care.
Provide professional advice and counselling on prescription and OTC medications including indications, dosage, adverse effects, and drug interactions.
Ensure all medication dispensing processes are accurate and appropriately managed while focusing on the timely delivery, reporting, invoicing, ordering, and communication.
Oversee all dispensing duties carried out by a Pharmacy Assistant to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of all prescriptions dispensed.
