About The Position

This Staff Pharmacist position is located at the New Albany, IN Store. The role involves playing a personal part within the community by ensuring patients receive the medication and care they need. It requires practicing pharmacy in an environment that promotes patient care and education, including patient consultations and immunizations. The Staff Pharmacist will also mentor, train, and guide Pharmacy Technicians.

Requirements

Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the state of Indiana.
Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
Retail/Community Practice experience.
Working knowledge of pharmacy system.
Working knowledge of policies and procedures.
Understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.

Responsibilities

Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
Expand and grow the pharmacy business.
Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
Be competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
Utilize effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
Demonstrate excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, focusing on customer service.
In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations.
