About The Position
SpecialtyRx is seeking a Pharmacist for our NEW location in Roanoke, VA. Relocation candidates are welcome to apply. SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. We take pride in delivering personalized care and high-quality pharmacy services and are excited to expand to our NEW location in Roanoke, Virginia.
Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Virginia.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computer systems.
Nice To Haves
- Long-Term Care experience preferred.
- Previous experience in hospital, retail, or other pharmacy practice settings preferred.
- Experience with Framework/ECM software is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug selection, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
- Ensure medications are accurately prepared, dispensed, and labeled.
- Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when appropriate.
- Maintain customer records, including medical history, clinical information, and laboratory data.
- Investigate and resolve medication-related questions and concerns.
- Communicate with facility nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy.
- Supervise the preparation and dispensing of medications.
- Maintain controlled substance records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper storage and security of medications.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.
