About The Position
This position involves assuring the appropriate selection, dosing, administering, and dispensing of medication orders. The role includes reviewing and assessing medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems, and recommending formulary alternatives when appropriate. The Pharmacist will compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients, provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients, and communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care. Additionally, the role involves overseeing technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies, assisting with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students, and potentially floating to provide coverage of pharmacy needs. Patient counseling will be provided efficiently and effectively when required.
Requirements
- Currently licensed as a Licensed Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
