About The Position

Pharmacist who works closely with other pharmacy staff to receive prescription orders and oversee prescription refills. This is a per diem, onsite position in Plano, TX. Role and Responsibilities Fill prescriptions and review prescriptions filled by Pharmacy Technicians. Provide drug information and patient counseling as required by law. Maintain medication invoices, including controlled substance invoices. Perform inventories required by law. Provide guidance and counseling to support personnel. Maintain good relationship with clinic management and clinical staff. Interpret medication orders/prescriptions and review patient's medication profile for drug-drug interactions, appropriate dosing, and allergies. Maintain proper medication storage conditions and maintain temperature logs as required. Understand prescription billing requirements for different payors, including commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare-D Provide oversight of medication distribution to remote clinic locations. Demonstrate and promote excellent customer service. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Holds an active license from the Texas Board of Pharmacy; license is in good standing.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy; Pharm.D. preferred
  • Minimum of two years of pharmacist practice in retail, ambulatory, or hospital outpatient settings.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate with prescribers and patients.
  • Demonstrates current knowledge of medication use and disease management.
  • Demonstrates computer skills necessary to manage prescription dispensing.
  • Understand quality control procedures and confidentiality requirements.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel software.
  • Demonstrates ability to manage personnel.
