Pharmacist (Internal Post) / Pharmacy / PRN
About The Position
Dispenses medications, intravenous fluids, and other pharmaceuticals. Reviews patient medication profiles for appropriate therapy and potential problems. Enters medication orders and contacts prescribing physician for clarification as needed. Provides therapeutic drug dosing and ensures compliance to pharmacy protocols. Participates in team meetings and rounds. Supervises technical personnel in their dispensing functions. Serves as a clinical resource to the medical center and medical center staff regarding drugs and pharmaceuticals. Provides counseling to patients and family members on the use of drugs and drug devices. Assumes responsibility for specialized pharmacy activities and projects to increase the level of pharmaceutical care in the organization. Ensures compliance with all state/federal laws and hospital policy and procedures.
Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor’s degree
- Currently licensed as a pharmacist in North Carolina.
- No previous experience required.
- Given training and on-the-job experience, incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
