About The Position

Ascension St. John's Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy department in Tulsa, OK. This full-time role involves an evening shift from 11:30 am to 11:00 pm, operating on a 7-on/7-off schedule, Wednesday through Thursday. The position is crucial for ensuring patient safety by reviewing medication orders, managing pharmacy operations by supervising technicians, controlling costs by recommending formulary alternatives, and serving as an expert for drug information and education to medical staff and patients, potentially mentoring pharmacy students.

Requirements

• Pharmacist obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
• A working knowledge of computers
• Excellent interpersonal skills, in-person and via phone

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in hospital pharmacy preferred

Responsibilities

• Review medication orders to catch and prevent drug-related issues, ensuring patients receive the correct medication, dosage, and administration.
• Supervise technicians to maintain an accurate and efficient workflow for preparing, storing, and dispensing medications.
• Recommend less expensive, but equally effective, formulary alternatives to help the hospital manage medication expenses.
• Serve as the go-to expert for drug information and provide education to both medical staff and patients, sometimes mentoring pharmacy students.
