About The Position

The College of Veterinary Medicine invites applicants to apply for the position of part-time Pharmacist. The primary purpose of this position is to deliver expert pharmaceutical care by preparing, dispensing, and verifying medications in accordance with clinicians’ orders. This role provides guidance to clients regarding the safe and appropriate use of prescription and over‑the‑counter medications for their patients and serves as a resource to clinicians and nursing staff on optimal, safe, and effective medication use. The position is also responsible for maintaining accurate medication records, ensuring adequate inventory levels, and monitoring the quality and quantity of all pharmaceuticals. Additionally, this role provides work direction to Pharmacy Technicians and oversees pharmacy operations while on duty. The Veterinary Medical Center is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, and 365 days per year. Occasional weekends, evening, or holiday work may be required of this position. Further, the successful candidate will be scheduled to work roughly 25 hours during every 2-week period, or 35% FTE.
