About The Position

Responsible for the implementation and adherence to the HealthDirect Standard of Practice as it relates to the provision of the highest quality health care service to our customers. This role involves dispensing prescriptions, performing quality assurance, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations. The Pharmacist will also oversee third-party claims, maintain customer service standards, and foster professional relationships within the healthcare community.

Requirements

  • BS or Pharm D degree in Pharmacy
  • Possess and maintain a valid State License and current registration to practice Pharmacy
  • Ability to stand/walk throughout majority of shift
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Basic keyboarding skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversees operations of the Pharmacy department.
  • Implements and adheres to the HealthDirect Standard of Practice for high-quality healthcare service.
  • Dispenses prescriptions following the HealthDirect Standard of Practice.
  • Performs quality assurance steps to ensure technically accurate prescriptions.
  • Reports dispensing incidents in a timely manner.
  • Follows all State and Federal regulations governing the practice of Pharmacy.
  • Oversees the submission, resubmission, and collection of all third-party claims.
  • Manages and balances pharmacy inventory for maximum turns while maintaining stock for customer needs.
  • Ensures prescription files and other manual records are maintained in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Ensures outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees.
  • Ensures all loss prevention policies are followed and reports deviations.
  • Oversees the maintenance of the pharmacy department to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Maintains and develops professional relationships with doctors and other health service professionals.
  • Maintains awareness of developments in Pharmacy and Health Care Services fields and integrates them into practice.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Facilitates communication between professional staff and pharmacy personnel.
  • Works on an on-call schedule, where applicable.
  • Interacts with Facility Manager in hiring practices, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions of pharmacy department personnel.
  • Performs MTM, IMMR, short stay reviews, delivery at discharge, and other clinical functions.
  • Assists in meeting or exceeding budgetary sales guidelines and operating the pharmacy within guidelines.
  • Interfaces with various auditors and outside agencies.
  • Completes all mandatory and regulatory training programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
