About The Position

The Registered Pharmacist, Fulfillment Center role is responsible for complying with department standards for operating procedures, customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance, and overall profitability. This position delivers quality care to patients/customers and is accountable for issues within the department. The role involves prompt, efficient, and accurate filling of prescriptions through automation at the facility, maintaining standard operating procedures, and fostering a positive, friendly, and team-oriented atmosphere. The pharmacist is also responsible for filing proper paperwork for licenses, performing controlled substance inventory, managing inventory control, understanding retail Hy-Vee operations, coaching and training employees, and responding to complaints in a timely manner. Adherence to company policies and Fulfillment Center guidelines, as well as reporting to work as scheduled, are essential.

Requirements

  • College degree in pharmacy and licensed.
  • Must have continuing education to keep license current.
  • Must have ability to be licensed in multiple states.
  • Over one year of related or similar work experience.
  • Ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems; several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculations.
  • Must be able to compose original correspondence; follow technical manuals; have increased contact with people; interview counsel or advise people; evaluate technical data.
  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction
  • Must be able to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks daily.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of the customer's private medical information according to the HIPAA act.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of prescription drug pricing and costs.
  • Acknowledge that exposure to hazardous drugs may cause acute and chronic effects.
  • Failure to follow pharmacy policies and procedures may put me at greater risk of exposure to hazardous drugs.

Responsibilities

  • Performs controlled substance inventory on an annual basis or as recommended.
  • Responsible for inventory control, maintaining inventory levels by ordering and stocking merchandise, checking invoices, and entering inventory.
  • Understands retail Hy-Vee operations to serve them with accurate, prompt prescriptions.
  • Coaches, counsels, and trains employees; encourages additional education and training.
  • Responds to complaints in a timely manner.
  • Adheres to company policies and Fulfillment Center guidelines.
  • Reports to work when scheduled and works expected number of hours.
  • Instructing, reviewing work, assigning work, planning work of others, maintaining standards, coordinating activities, and allocating personnel.
