About The Position
Kennebec Pharmacy and Home Care is a home infusion pharmacy and home medical equipment provider serving residents throughout the state of Maine for the past 30 years. They offer services such as CPAP/BIPAP, respiratory therapy, durable medical equipment and supplies, and home infusion therapy. This is a per diem position for a dedicated pharmacist specializing in home infusion. It is a non-retail clinical pharmacist position, and while home infusion experience is not necessary, some experience in sterile compounding is desired, with training available for the right candidate. The role involves dispensing medications and drugs, providing clinical consultation, and ensuring high standards of patient care.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree
- Current Maine Registered Pharmacist License

- Some experience in sterile compounding is desired
Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient admissions with the healthcare team, including physicians, pharmacists, home health agencies, and case managers.
- Provides clinical consultation for I.V. therapies, dosage calculations, nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, and drug information as needed.
- Assume the role of Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) in the absence of the Homecare Pharmacy Department PIC.
- Oversees staff and assists customers with medication selection, equipment, and supplies in person and by telephone.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and rights are upheld.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
