About The Position

The Pharmacist ensures the overall integrity, safety, rationality, and effectiveness of the drug use control process for all patients in the assigned geographic or specialty area, including the following patient groups: Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics. The role involves monitoring, screening, and verifying all drug-related orders for proper dosage, route, dosage form, and administration schedule, ensuring expedited preparation and dispensing. The pharmacist will resolve drug therapy problems, clarify and correct drug orders, designate technicians for special assignments, counsel patients on medication use, and resolve equipment and operational issues.

Requirements

  • Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment.
  • Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program.
  • Must be available to work evenings, nights and weekends.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program.

Responsibilities
