About The Position

This role is responsible for clinical review and intervention, operations and oversight, education and consultation, and collaborative care within the Pharmacy department at Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN. The pharmacist will assess medication orders to prevent drug interactions, dosing errors, or contraindications, and suggest formulary alternatives. They will also compound and dispense medications, supervise Pharmacy Technicians, provide drug information to healthcare professionals, counsel patients, and mentor pharmacy students. Additionally, the pharmacist will work with the healthcare team to resolve drug-related problems and facilitate care transitions.

Requirements

Pharmacist credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.

Responsibilities

Assessing medication orders to prevent drug-drug interactions, dosing errors, or contraindications, and suggesting formulary alternatives to optimize therapy.
Compounding and dispensing medications while supervising Pharmacy Technicians in the preparation and maintenance of supplies.
Providing drug information to physicians and nurses, counseling patients on their medications, and serving as a Preceptor to mentor pharmacy students.
Working directly with the healthcare team to resolve drug-related problems and facilitate smooth transitions of care.
