About The Position

Mercy Health Rehabilitation Hospital, Youngstown, operated jointly with Lifepoint Health and Mercy Health, is seeking a part-time Pharmacist. This role is crucial in providing pharmaceutical care to patients, managing drug therapy protocols within an interdisciplinary team, and ensuring medication safety. The Pharmacist will review and evaluate medication orders, identify and resolve drug-related problems, and provide drug information and education to healthcare professionals and patients. Documentation of interventions and outcomes for quality improvement is also a key responsibility. The hospital is committed to prioritizing employee well-being to enable exceptional patient care.

Requirements

• Pharmacy license in the state of Ohio
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and provides the pharmaceutical care of patients
• Manages drug therapy protocols as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Reviews, interprets and evaluates medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential or actual drug related problems
• Provides drug information and education to medical staff, healthcare professionals, and patients, and pharmacy students
• Documents interventions and their outcomes for use in drug therapy quality improvement efforts
• Evaluates medication orders for accuracy and completeness prior to order entry
• Checks for accuracy after filling by technicians
