About The Position

Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders. Detect any therapeutic incompatibilities. Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians’ workflow. Verify their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, order entries, charges, and inspections. Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals. Counsel patients on drug therapies. Dispense medications by compounding, packaging and labeling pharmaceuticals. Control medications by monitoring drug therapies, advise interventions when necessary. Comply with federal and state drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration. Maintain records for controlled substances. Remove outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory. Utilize integrated electronic health record (EHR) platforms to perform medication reconciliation, e-prescribing, and clinical decision support functions. Apply current immunization schedules, opioid stewardship protocols, and collaborative practice agreements in daily patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
  • Michigan Pharmacist License
  • BLS Certification
  • 5 years experience as a Pharmacist, Pharmacy Manager, or related occupation.
  • Must not be identified on USDHHS List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE).
