About The Position

Join a locally owned and operated store to help deliver health, beauty and convenience services in your community, and keep the customer at the centre of everything you do. We are looking for a part-time pharmacist to complete our team to expand our professional services. This role involves working one weekend out of four and one evening per week, for approximately 10 hours per week (to be discussed). This is a small neighborhood pharmacy in a vibrant area with a loyal and diverse clientele, handling an average of 315 prescriptions per day, with a majority of blister packs in CPO. We frequently host interns from Laval University. New graduates are welcome, and this schedule is perfect for a Master's student in pharmacy or a pharmacist returning to studies for a career change. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Manage pharmacy operations during their shift, including providing advice to clients and healthcare providers, utilizing their full scope of practice to provide professional services, dispensing medications, and assisting with dispensary maintenance.
  • Welcome all customers entering the pharmacy.
  • Practice within federal and provincial regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Ensure all confidentiality requirements are met, including client privacy and consent management.
  • Offer consultations on prescription, over-the-counter, and behind-the-counter medications.
  • Utilize full scope of practice to provide professional services within capabilities.
  • Be clearly identifiable to the public.
  • Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all dispensed prescriptions.
  • Communicate with other healthcare professionals within the circle of care to provide customer service.
  • Maintain all required records in accordance with legislation, standards of practice, and policies.
  • Control access to the dispensary regarding stock and patient confidentiality.
  • Review and maintain daily operational workflow queues.
  • Regularly review 'call back' bins according to established SOPs.
  • Review inventory for expired stock.
  • Supervise current inventory levels and wholesale drug orders.
  • Ensure all documentation and controlled substance requirements under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and regulations are met and report to Health Canada and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure workstations for entry and pick-up, consultation and waiting areas, and work islands reflect an appropriate image of the pharmacy.
  • Participate in financial reporting, if applicable.
  • Read and execute store communications on the Intra-store.
  • Write incident reports when an incident involving client or staff medication or privacy-related incidents occur.
