About The Position

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated pharmacist to support safe medication use and patient well-being in inpatient rehabilitation. The role contributes to community health and rehabilitative care, with opportunities to help shape pharmacy policies, develop clinical services, and integrate medication management into patient care. The pharmacist makes management decisions and recommendations and exercises independent judgment.

The pharmacist oversees daily pharmacy operations, contributes to pharmacy policies and procedures that comply with Joint Commission and other regulatory agency requirements, participates in the interdisciplinary team, and accurately interprets, compounds, and dispenses medications in accordance with legal and professional standards.

Requirements

• Hold a license in good standing from the State Pharmacy Board for the state where the hospital is located.
• Successfully complete a pharmacy degree from a U.S.-accredited program, or from an international program evaluated by a recognized certifying agency as substantially equivalent to U.S. accreditation standards.

Nice To Haves

• One year of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily pharmacy operations to meet customer and patient expectations.
• Contribute to the development of pharmacy-specific policies and procedures in compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agency regulations.
• Participate actively in the interdisciplinary team, using critical information to support positive patient outcomes.
• Accurately interpret, compound, and dispense medication in adherence to legal and professional pharmacy standards.
• Make management decisions and recommendations and exercise independent judgment.
