Requirements

  • 1-3 years working in pharmacy setting.
  • Valid California Pharmacist License
  • Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy

Nice To Haves

  • Previous working or relatable experience in Long Term Care; Skilled Nursing or Infusion Pharmacy preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Responsibilities

  • Serves patients by preparing medications and giving pharmacological information to multidisciplinary health care teams.
  • Monitors patient drug therapies.
  • Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising interventions.
  • Completes pharmacy operationsal requirements by organizing and directing the workflow of Pharmacy Technicians by verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
  • Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
  • Complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring nursing unit inspection.
  • Maintains records for controlled substances and removed outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
  • Supervises the work results of support personnel.
  • Maintains current registration, studies existing and new legislation, anticipated legislation and advises management on needed actions.
  • Protects patients, technicians and other personnel by adhering to infection-control protocols.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Consult with multidisciplinary teams at facility locations.
  • Demonstrate genuine care of patients.
  • Ensure accurate delivery of pharmaceuticals.
  • Provide and ensure exceptional customer service to all customers, internal and external.
