About The Position
Ascension Saint Thomas West is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy Services Inpatient department. This PRN, Day Shift role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care by reviewing and optimizing medication orders, recommending formulary alternatives, and providing expert drug information. The successful candidate will oversee the compounding and delivery of medications, lead technical support staff, serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students, and counsel patients. This role also involves direct collaboration with physicians to ensure seamless care and provide flexible departmental coverage.
Requirements
- Pharmacist credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
Nice To Haves
- PGY1 or PGY2 highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Review and optimize medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential drug-related issues.
- Recommend formulary alternatives and provide expert drug information to medical staff and patients.
- Oversee the accurate compounding and delivery of medications while leading technical support staff.
- Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy students.
- Provide clear, effective counseling to patients.
- Work directly with physicians to facilitate seamless care.
- Provide flexible coverage across the department.
