About The Position

Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Pharmacists for our Inpatient Pharmacy Department. We are looking for candidates regardless of prior pharmacy experience, offering a supportive environment to promote professional development and growth. The Pharmacy Department utilizes a decentralized model with pharmacists embedded on medical teams, multiple ASHP accredited pharmacy residency programs, an active oncology infusion service, ambulatory care service lines, and a retail/specialty outpatient pharmacy. Pharmacists are responsible for the control, monitoring, and dispensing of medications for all age groups, supervising medication preparation by technicians, and advising nursing personnel on medication administration. They also promote the rational use of medications by providing drug information and clinical monitoring services.

Requirements

  • Pharm.D. or equivalent
  • Current CT Pharmacist license or eligible within 45 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform functions related to the control, monitoring and dispensing of medications for all age groups of patients according to department procedures and protocols in a safe, cost effective and timely manner.
  • Supervises medication preparation by pharmacy technicians and advises nursing personnel regarding appropriate medication administration.
  • Promote the rational use of medications via provision of drug information and clinical monitoring services to members of the medical community.
