About The Position
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking a Pharmacist to join its team at the 53rd Street Rockefeller Outpatient Pavilion in New York. The Pharmacy Department provides multidisciplinary patient care with an emphasis on therapeutic efficacy and safety, including comprehensive clinical and dispensing services, electronic clinical resources, and medication safety programs. The role involves verifying and preparing investigational, chemotherapy, and non-chemotherapy agents; entering premedications and antiemetics according to institutional guidelines; performing cleanroom operations; and providing retail pharmacy coverage as needed. The position is mostly evening hours, with shifts scheduled during the pharmacy’s operating hours. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.
Requirements
- Valid New York Pharmacist license.
- PharmD or equivalent degree.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to develop a good understanding of pharmacy systems.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to support a culture centered on patient safety and cleanroom sterility.
- Ability to make sound judgments with incomplete information.
- Ability to suggest workflow changes to improve patient care.
- Strong sense of ownership and willingness to learn.
- Encouraging attitude toward others’ beliefs and ideas.
- Good aseptic and compounding skills.
Nice To Haves
- Prior hospital pharmacy and chemotherapy experience.
- Prior retail pharmacy experience.
- IV compounding experience.
Responsibilities
- Verify and prepare investigational, chemotherapy, and non-chemotherapy agents.
