About The Position

A-Team Solutions is seeking a Pharmacist for the CMOP Leavenworth to work Monday-Friday between the hours of 6 AM and 6 PM. Varying days and shifts are available. This role involves maintaining drug stock, encouraging generic and preferred formulary usage, interpreting physician orders, monitoring patient medication profiles, and ensuring accurate and timely medication refilling and record maintenance. The pharmacist will also provide drug information, coordinate and supervise workplace activities, prepare special medications, and assist with training programs for pharmacy interns, residents, students, and technicians.

Requirements

  • Minimum of B.S. in Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred.
  • Previous community pharmacy supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Must be licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Must be a graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school or university.
  • Pharmacists licensed but subjected to disciplinary action of any type by their licensing authority within the preceding five years must be referred to CMOP management before proceeding with the hiring action.
  • Must be licensed for controlled substances.
  • Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and staff.
  • Have basic typing skills, PC computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
  • Able to sit/stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours).
  • Able to lift totes weighing up to 30 pounds repetitively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain drug stock par levels to ensure drug inventory turnover.
  • Encourage generic and preferred formulary usage while maintaining contract adherence.
  • Receive and interpret physicians' medication orders.
  • Monitor patient medication profiles to guard against sensitivities, contraindications, duplications, and major drug interactions.
  • Assure the accurate and timely refilling of patient medication.
  • Assure maintenance of patients' medication records.
  • Provide drug information to other health care providers and patients.
  • Consult and advise members of the medical staff on matters relating to specific drug therapy problems.
  • Provide drug information and other informational materials to members of the medical and nursing staff.
  • Work with medical and/or nursing personnel to resolve problems involving pharmacy services.
  • Coordinate and supervise work-place activities and resources.
  • Promote professional competence.
  • Assure that services rendered and work performed are in accordance with specific standards.
  • Advise, assist, and supervise the work of pharmacy technicians.
  • Assume final responsibility for the accuracy of pharmacy technicians' work.
  • Prepare special medications involving compounding procedures and sterile products using aseptic techniques when necessary.
  • Assist with training programs of pharmacy interns, residents, students, and technicians.
  • Provide information in all pertinent areas of pharmacy practices, policies, and procedures.
