About The Position

The Pharmacist is responsible for the execution of tasks performed and the handling of Investigational and Non-Investigation Products (IP/NIP) in compliance with study protocol, Good Clinical Practices (GCP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This is a PT contract position.

Requirements

  • Degree from Accredited School of Pharmacy
  • 1 year of related experience
  • Licensed pharmacist in good standing with pharmacy state/province board required.
  • Microsoft suite, strong computer literacy
  • Compounding and aseptic technique
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and industry specific manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency English/French for the Canadian Locations as this position requires collaboration with the US entities and Sponsors
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills are required.
  • Personal and professional integrity and proven discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • Capable of managing multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Must be self-directed, motivated, and have a willingness to take the initiative to identify and anticipate client needs and make recommendations for implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and advocate a high level of customer service and quality within the department.
  • Manage all investigational and non‑investigational product (IP/NIP) operations, including receipt, storage, labeling, preparation (sterile when required), dispensing, shipping, inventory control, and accountability.
  • Act as the qualified person/pharmacist in the approval of study documents and release of IP.
  • Ensure and/or perform quality review of pharmacy documentation, including but not limited to IP/NIP labels, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API), inventory, and pharmacy manual.
  • May act as QPIC or A/QPIC for controlled substances and maintain the permanent inventory to ensure compliance pharmacy licensure limitations (for Canadian location only).
  • May participate in sponsor/regulatory audits and protocol reviews.
  • Comply with study blinding and randomization when handling and/or dispensing IPs.
  • Ensure the timely resolution of pharmacy related queries.
  • Represent the Pharmacy department in internal and external meetings.
  • Assist in managing and maintaining pharmacy maintenance logs such as, temperature, cleaning and calibration.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of clinical trial participants and sponsors is respected.
  • Collaborate in the coordination of training employees on study specific dosing procedures.
  • Proactively communicate issues and/or problem resolutions to departmental supervisors and managers.
