About The Position
A community hospital near Sioux City, Iowa is seeking a Pharmacist to join its pharmacy team! This is a full-time, permanent, direct-hire position with 35-40 hours per week, featuring a four-day weekday schedule and rotating weekend coverage (Saturday mornings and limited Sunday coverage as needed). Requirements
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required
- Active Iowa Pharmacist license required
- Mandatory Reporter certification required within six months of employment
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of one year of pharmacist experience preferred
- Hospital pharmacy experience preferred, but retail pharmacy experience will be considered
Responsibilities
- Prepare, dispense, and monitor medications to ensure safe and effective patient care
- Review medication orders for appropriateness, contraindications, interactions, and allergies
- Counsel patients regarding medication usage, benefits, and potential side effects
- Collaborate with providers and healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy outcomes
- Maintain compliance with pharmacy regulations, quality standards, and inventory management practices
