About The Position
Griffin Memorial Hospital is looking for a Contract Pharmacist to perform professional level work in filling and dispensing prescriptions. This role involves managing prescription files, ensuring adequate stock of emergency supplies, checking patient charts for potential issues like overdoses or drug interactions, and consulting with physicians on prescription revisions and drug alternatives.
Requirements
- Possession of a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Oklahoma.
Responsibilities
- Dispensing drugs, medications, narcotics, and other pharmaceutical supplies requisitioned by doctors.
- Compounding individual prescriptions as necessary.
- Maintaining prescription files.
- Periodically visiting wards to ascertain that emergency stock supplies are adequately stored and replenished.
- Checking patient charts for possible overdoses, drug interactions, side effects and proper paperwork.
- Making reports accordingly.
- Rejecting prescriptions containing dosage believed excessive.
- Consulting with physician on revision of prescriptions.
- Keeping abreast of current developments and literature.
- Advising physicians of drugs and medications available and the use of alternate drugs.
