About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital committed to providing world-class inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who require extended healing and recovery. We help patients during some of the most vulnerable, painful moments of their lives – and Pharmacists play a central role in providing compassionate, excellent care every step of the way. This role involves split time between Select Specialty Hospital & UF Health/Select Medical in Gainesville, Florida. The schedule is per-diem/PRN/As needed, requiring coverage for 2 weekends per month, holidays, and PTO. The compensation is $65.00 per hour. Requirements

  • Successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
  • Current State licensure required.
  • BLS if required by State.

Nice To Haves

  • Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

  • Having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
  • Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
  • Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
  • Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
  • Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
  • Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.
