About The Position

The Pharmacist (Floater) is based in Clinton, New Jersey, and works in a long-term care pharmacy. The listed schedule is a start time of 7:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. and an end time of 3:30 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. The pharmacist supports medication production and dispensing for facilities and residents, performs prescription review and verification, and provides customer service and medication consultations. The role also supervises pharmacy staff, manages pharmaceutical and medical supply inventory, and maintains pharmacy security and accurate records.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
Must be a state-registered pharmacist.
At least 1 year of pharmacist experience in a long-term care or retail pharmacy environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Assist and direct support staff in producing and dispensing medication orders to facilities and residents.
Perform drug utilization review and follow up as appropriate.
Enter and check prescription orders, and verify orders.
Answer calls and provide customer service to facilities.
Accept and dispense prescription medications.
Consult on prescription and non-prescription medications, including storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
Compound medications for external or internal use.
Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
Supervise pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and pharmacy clerks.
Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
Maintain the security of the prescription area and its contents, and report thefts or diversions of controlled substances to the Supervisor.
Ensure prohibited or unsuitable drugs—including misbranded, deteriorated, adulterated, improperly stored, outdated, or sample-designated drugs—are not dispensed or kept in active pharmacy stock.
Maintain accurate records of prescription medications received and dispensed.
