About the Role: The Pharmacist (Night Shift) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications during overnight hours, supporting continuous patient care in healthcare facilities or retail pharmacy settings. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to accurately interpret prescriptions, verify dosages, and counsel patients or healthcare providers on medication use and potential side effects. The pharmacist will collaborate closely with healthcare teams to manage inventory, monitor drug interactions, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards. Working the night shift, the pharmacist ensures that pharmaceutical services are available 24/7, addressing urgent medication needs and emergencies promptly. Ultimately, this role contributes to optimizing patient outcomes by providing expert pharmaceutical care during hours when resources may be limited and rapid decision-making is essential.

Requirements

A Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
A valid and active pharmacist license to practice in the United States.
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and pharmacy law.
Experience working in a pharmacy setting, preferably with some exposure to night or extended shifts.
Excellent communication skills to effectively counsel patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
The required skills enable the pharmacist to accurately dispense medications and ensure patient safety by identifying potential drug interactions and contraindications.

Nice To Haves

Additional training or certification in specialized pharmacy areas such as oncology or infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently during night shift hours, ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards.
