JOB SUMMARY: Process orders for parenteral and enteral medications, and other pharmaceuticals as needed for optimal patient care according to standards and practices for patients in all age groups including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Promote safe, cost-effective, rational drug use and provides expert pharmaceutical information to other health colleagues. Supports the mission and core values of the company through responsible and effective work performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Pharmacy.
  • Five (5) years progressively responsible experience performing pharmacy functions in an acute care setting.
  • Ability to serve as a lead worker to subordinate personnel.
  • ACLS certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • Continued employment is contingent on successfully maintaining current required certification(s) and/or license(s).
  • Demonstrating knowledge and Competency of USP 797 Core Skills
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices and procedures of Clinical Pharmacy including drug therapy monitoring, drug information, drug utilization review, pharmacokinetics, nutritional support, adverse drug reaction monitoring and cardiopulmonary arrest.
  • Skill in prescribing trends, new drugs and developments.
  • Ability to give directions to and gain compliance from assigned staff.
  • Ability to maintain good planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions and respond quickly to emergency requests.
  • Ability to maintain harmonious and effective working relationships with other employees and respond to general public complaints.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Participation in Local, State and National Pharmacy Organizations to acquire/improve Competency.
  • Some travel, to follow-up with Corporate, Financial, GPO, Compliance and Pyxis issues.
