About The Position
Ascension St. John Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacist to join their Pharmacy department in Tulsa, OK. This PRN position involves an evening shift and focuses on ensuring patient safety, managing pharmacy operations, controlling costs, and educating medical staff and patients. The role requires a licensed pharmacist with a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy, and offers opportunities for professional growth within a leading nonprofit Catholic health system.
Requirements
- Licensed Pharmacist credentialed from the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
- A working knowledge of computers
- Excellent interpersonal skills, in-person and via phone
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of experience in hospital pharmacy preferred
Responsibilities
- Review medication orders to catch and prevent drug-related issues, ensuring patients receive the correct medication, dosage, and administration.
- Supervise technicians to maintain an accurate and efficient workflow for preparing, storing, and dispensing medications.
- Recommend less expensive, but equally effective, formulary alternatives to help the hospital manage medication expenses.
- Serve as the go-to expert for drug information and provide education to both medical staff and patients, sometimes mentoring pharmacy students.
