Under the supervision of the Outpatient Pharmacy Administrative Director and/or Pharmacy Manager, and according to department policies, procedures, and guidelines, the Pharmacist is responsible for the compounding and dispensing of prescribed pharmaceuticals. This role involves checking all medication prior to dispensing and delivery, providing consultation to customers, and maintaining accurate prescription records. The Pharmacist also supervises pharmacy staff, including customer service representatives and pharmacy technicians, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, the position involves contacting physicians and benefits providers, completing insurance forms, and providing drug education and counseling to patients and healthcare practitioners. The role requires maintaining professional competency through continued education and adhering to hospital-wide standards for performance, conduct, infection control, and safety.
