Pharmacist
About The Position
The Pharmacist interprets medication orders and prescriptions to ensure they are complete, safe, rational, and compatible with institutional policy. This role involves preparing compounds and dispensing medications for both inpatient and ambulatory care use, as well as dispensing other pharmacy-related items. The Pharmacist will perform duties across all areas of the Pharmacy, including inpatient, ambulatory care, and satellite locations. Additionally, the role includes providing information to healthcare practitioners to promote the rational use of medications, performing drug monitoring, maintaining pharmacy records in compliance with legal and institutional policies, interpreting policies and procedures for hospital staff, and participating in teaching programs and the Pharmacy Department's Quality Assurance Programs. The ideal candidate will be able to perform most patient care functions in an acute care setting with minimal orientation and supervision.
Requirements
- B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD.
- NYS licensed
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must successfully pass pre-employment health clearance
