Under the supervision of the Manager of Pharmacy, performs all duties necessary to provide effective daily operation of all departmental services and programs. This includes compounding, labeling and dispensing of medication and IV admixtures. Supervises pharmacy technicians in all work areas. Provide clinical services to enhance medication administration and therapeutic outcomes. Provide clinical drug information to meet the needs of the healthcare staff. Participation in appropriate committees Provide support for department education including residents, interns, and students. Require up to 25% variable staff rotation to meet department needs including evenings and weekends. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Current registered pharmacist in the state of Florida, board certification.
  • Self-motivated
  • Good interpersonal communication with physicians, nurses, etc.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Work as a team player
  • Ability to use computerized information systems.
  • Requires sitting for long periods of time, also stooping, bending, standing, and stretching.
  • Must have manual dexterity for typing and computer data entry.
  • Able to work under a stressful environment, work independently, capable of making sound decisions, be detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 20lbs.
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation.
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
