About The Position

VytlOne is currently recruiting for a Full Time Pharmacist for our MA and CT locations. The majority of coverage will be for The Pharmacy at HMC and The Specialty Pharmacy at HMC in Holyoke, MA. The Pharmacist ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for The Retail and Specialty Pharmacies. This is a unique opportunity to practice outpatient pharmacy in a model that integrates the pharmacy into the patient care transition model. Day Shift Hours! No Nights or Weekends! Great benefits! Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy experience.
  • Possession of a current unrestricted and valid pharmacist license in the state of MA and CT.
  • Controlled Substance license preferred.
  • Ability to supervise pharmacy staff in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate and establish collaborative relationships with physicians, patients, clinical and administrative staff.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex new software.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews prescriptions issued by Physician, or other authorized prescriber to assure accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
  • Compounds medications, using standard formulas and processes such as weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, if applicable.
  • Answers questions and provides information to pharmacy customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
  • Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
  • Enters data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost, to maintain pharmacy files, charge system, and inventory.
