About The Position

Otter Co-op is seeking a Full-Time Pharmacist to join their team at the Retail Centre in Langley, BC. Otter Co-op is a long-standing organization with a strong community focus, operating various businesses including food and pharmacy stores, liquor stores, and petroleum facilities. The Pharmacist will be responsible for maintaining high professional standards of customer service, ensuring patient care, and fostering a friendly atmosphere to support clientele building and profitable growth. This role also involves ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and legislative regulations within the pharmacy unit.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
  • Licensed Pharmacist in British Columbia.
  • Injection Certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Canadian Retail Pharmacy.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with Kroll computer software system.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License and clean abstract.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to manage computer files and systems efficiently.
  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, and communications skills.
  • Motivation and ability to work in a busy environment.
  • Effective planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain relationships outside of the organization that support the organization.
  • Open availability 7 days a week to work a variety of shifts (early mornings, afternoons, late evenings).
  • Willingness to travel and work at other locations as business needs arise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, friendly, convenient, and professional service in the pharmacy dispensary and OTC sales area.
  • Maintain positive relationships with staff and other team members to support customer service objectives and positive employee relations.
  • Demonstrate warmth, empathy, and compassion towards guests.
  • Focus on Clinical Services (e.g., disease state management, medication reviews, and health risk assessments).
  • Prioritize technical functions to Pharmacy Assistants when available for prescription safety.
  • Initiate care plans, follow up, and document patient interactions.
  • Collect relevant patient, drug, and disease information.
  • Identify actual and potential drug-related problems.
  • Monitor medication adherence.
  • Provide patient counseling for new therapy and assess patient understanding of their medication.
  • Ensure compliance with all company standards and procedures.
  • Proactively support and execute the store's loss prevention program as it applies to the pharmacy unit.
  • Support management in controlling inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Health & Safety Program and Provincial regulations.
  • Contribute to the team by living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community, and Excellence.
