PRN Pharmacist
About The Position
Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a PRN (as needed) Pharmacist to be part of our Pharmacy Team. This role involves serving patients by preparing medications, providing pharmacological information to a multidisciplinary healthcare team, and monitoring patient drug therapies. The ideal candidate will have at least two weekdays available for flexible scheduling, as this position does not require nights or weekends. Blue Ridge Health is a nonprofit system of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) dedicated to improving health, inspiring hope, and advancing healing through compassionate, affordable, and quality care in Western North Carolina.
Requirements
- BS Pharmacy
- Appropriate licensure in North Carolina
- Thorough knowledge of pharmacy, drug, narcotic, and related laws of the state of NC

Responsibilities
- Prepares medications.
- Gives pharmacological information to a multidisciplinary health care team.
- Monitors patient drug therapies.
- Coordinates activities with pharmacist manager by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence relative to the work.
- Consults with staff Physicians on the use, characteristics, and effects of drugs.
- Maintains custody and control of narcotics.
- Recognizes physical, chemical, and therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Monitors and analyzes the health of the patient, with respect to the drugs that have been given to patient.
