About The Position

Hartford Hospital is actively hiring Pharmacists for our Inpatient Pharmacy Department. We are looking for candidates regardless of prior pharmacy experience and offer a supportive environment to promote professional development and growth. Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England, a Level 1 Trauma Center with cutting-edge treatment capabilities, including the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI). The Pharmacy Department at Hartford Hospital utilizes a decentralized model with pharmacists embedded on medical teams to provide advice on optimal drug therapy. We also have multiple ASHP accredited pharmacy residency programs, an active oncology infusion service, ambulatory care service lines, and a retail/specialty outpatient pharmacy. Pharmacists perform functions related to the control, monitoring, and dispensing of medications for all age groups of patients according to department procedures and protocols in a safe, cost-effective, and timely manner. They supervise medication preparation by pharmacy technicians and advise nursing personnel regarding appropriate medication administration. Pharmacists promote the rational use of medications through drug information and clinical monitoring services to the medical community.

Requirements

  • Pharm.D. or equivalent
  • Current CT Pharmacist license or eligible within 45 days of hire.
