This role is for a Staff Pharmacist at our Owensboro, KY Store Location. Relocation is available. The Staff Pharmacist plays a personal role within the community by ensuring that patients receive the medication and care they need. This includes practicing pharmacy in an environment that promotes patient care and education, including patient consultations and immunizations. The role also involves mentoring, training, and guiding pharmacy technicians.

Requirements

  • Must be a licensed Pharmacist in the state of Kentucky.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree or Doctorate of Pharmacy.
  • Registered and licensed in the state of practice.
  • Certified Immunization Pharmacist (except Indiana).
  • Retail/Community Practice.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy system.
  • Working knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of regulatory in the state the unit operates.

Responsibilities

  • Fill prescriptions safely and accurately.
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, team members, and leadership.
  • Hold pharmacy technicians accountable for results in an appropriate and effective manner.
  • Have a vision to expand and grow the pharmacy business.
  • Educate and mentor pharmacy technicians to be effective team members.
  • Motivate team members to perform to their highest level.
  • Be competent and knowledgeable of Meijer Policies and Procedures as well as state and federal laws.
  • Utilize effective communication skills and act as an agent of change.
  • Demonstrate excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Listen to the patient and resolve patient’s needs, demonstrating customer service.
  • In the absence of the pharmacist in charge, will be responsible for the pharmacy operations.
  • Perform and oversee (where allowed) clinical services, including immunizations.
