Responsibilities
- Prepares medication, upon receipt of prescription, for use within the hospital.
- Enters/verifies medication orders into pharmacy computer to establish patient drug regimes.
- Purchases pharmaceuticals and stocks pharmacy and ancillary departments with medications based on par levels.
- Communicates drug information with Nursing staff.
- Oversees the preparation and dispensing of medications.
- Checks all medications dispensed from the pharmacy.
- Communicates with nursing and physicians to compliment patient care.
