About The Position
The Pharmacist Specialty Services is a vital role within the MultiCare pharmacy department. Performing manipulative and non-discretionary functions, this position supports patients and families by providing guidance and education. The pharmacist works with specialty clinics and patients to facilitate access to specialty pharmaceuticals and related assistance programs.
Requirements
- Licensed as a pharmacist in the State of Washington.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an ASHP-accredited pharmacy residency.
- Minimum of one year of pharmacy experience, preferably in a setting appropriate to the work assignment, such as a hospital, retail, or clinic.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient outreach to ensure accurate and timely filling of specialty pharmaceuticals.
- Collaborate with clinic staff to connect patients with MHS specialty pharmacy resources.
- Process prior authorization requests from specialty clinics.
- Determine patient eligibility and enroll patients in copay assistance and medication assistance programs when appropriate.
