About The Position

This is a PRN (as needed) position for a Pharmacist working the Day Shift in a retail pharmacy setting. The role involves ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining pharmacy security, and providing patient counseling. The pharmacist will also assist in training new staff, communicate daily activities to the manager, and contribute to maintaining the pharmacy. Key skills include working independently, handling stress, collaborating with colleagues, managing multiple tasks, prioritizing, making critical decisions, and fostering a team environment. Proficiency in computer use and effective communication are also essential.

Requirements

Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE)
Knowledge of patient counseling, drug therapy, and drug-drug interactions
Current pharmacist license in state of MN
BLS certification

Nice To Haves

One to two years of retail/outpatient pharmacy experience preferred
Certification or desire to be certified in Immunizations

Responsibilities

Fills orders with accuracy.
Checks technician-prepared products before release.
Maintains security of pharmacy and controlled substances.
Enters orders and patient information with accuracy.
Aids in the training of new staff.
Updates the manager of retail pharmacy services about the daily activities of the pharmacy.
Aids the manager of retail pharmacy services in maintaining the pharmacy.
Ability to work independently and handle stress appropriately.
Ability to work cooperatively with other members of the outpatient pharmacy.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
Ability to set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns.
Fosters a team environment.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
Working computer knowledge.
Other duties as assigned.
