About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking three oncology/hematology infusion center pharmacists. This position primarily involves day shifts, Monday through Friday, with occasional rotating weekends and no scheduled holidays. The role is based in Rochester and offers opportunities for career growth within a top-ranked healthcare provider. The pharmacists will be responsible for drug distribution, monitoring drug therapy, patient education, processing chemotherapy orders, verifying products, precepting learners, participating in research and quality improvement initiatives, and providing integrated care and medication therapy management services. They will also conduct patient clinical reviews, assist with clinical consults, and support the medication use process for patients on investigational therapies and cancer clinical trials. Building strong relationships with nursing, medical oncology staff, and other care team members is essential.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or equivalent experience.
  • Equivalent experience includes at least two years of relevant pharmacy practice experience.
  • Commitment to excellence, accuracy, attention to detail and teamwork required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively with others, organizes time well, practice with an agile mindset, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision required.
  • Current pharmacist license by the Board of Pharmacy in Minnesota.

Nice To Haves

  • Other advanced degrees (e.g., Master’s, Ph.D.) and applicable Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) or other certification applicable to the position as determined by the supervisor preferred.
  • Completion of pharmacy residency and specialization (e.g., PGY-2 and respective BPS certification), if applicable, preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited pharmacy residency.
  • Experience working in a large, progressive academic medical center.
  • Evidence of ongoing scholarly pursuits including research/quality improvement, publications, or scientific presentations preferred.
  • Relevant applicable pharmacy experience working in a progressive and collaborative practice environment preferred.
  • Experience and/or interest in teaching and/or precepting preferred.
