This role involves working collaboratively with Pharmacists and Technicians to ensure excellent patient care through prescription management and customer service. The intern will assist with various prescription-related tasks, including transfers and processing phoned-in scripts and voicemails, all under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Key responsibilities include clear communication with patients and healthcare providers, assisting with immunizations (where permitted by law), and helping patients with medication access and affordability. The intern will also be involved in the prescription filling process, Point of Sale (POS) tasks, and clarifying drug orders with physicians' offices. This position requires a minimum of 10 working hours per week, including two weekend shifts per month and at least one quarterly/annual inventory count per year. Additional duties may be assigned, and participation in pharmacy staff meetings and completion of assigned training are expected. Inventory management, including controlled substances, and pharmacy compounding will also be part of the role, adhering to legal requirements and company policies. Providing patient information and counseling, and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures are essential.
