Requirements

Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy
License in state of Iowa as a registered pharmacist
Continuing education in good standing.

Responsibilities

Fill and verify medication orders/infusions
Monitor patient drug therapies
Counsel patients
Document interventions
Assist in maintaining pharmacy inventory
Provide drug information in compliance with all state and federal laws governing the practice of pharmacy including, standards of Joint Commission.
Interpret medication orders (verbal/electronic/written) and transcribe to patient medication profiles accurately.
Dispense medications accurately and timely.
Complete all competence assessment requirements.
Provide courteous and cooperative service to internal and external customers according to service excellence standards.
Document clinical interventions.
Complete daily/monthly medication area inspections.
Communicate with providers, insurance or financial department to help problem solve issues with the medication orders, formulary or finances.
Provide drug information when needed and clinical recommendations for medication orders
