About The Position

This role leverages pharmacist clinical skills and informatics skills to support the medication electronic health record. The analyst will serve as a liaison regarding clinical informatics, developing informatics plans, data analysis, and systems that advance evidence-based practice, improve medication safety, and optimize medication-related workflows. The position involves designing, evaluating, and implementing new electronic health record build to support clinical practice and improve the quality and safety of patient care. The analyst will consult with providers, leadership, physicians, and other clinicians to evaluate information systems, acting as a critical link between medication workflows and technology by effectively analyzing and communicating complex informatics issues. Support will be provided for informatics solutions for clinical and operational improvements, and assistance will be given in the creation of data analytics to facilitate data review and improve performance. The role includes developing and implementing automated clinical rules supporting patient care and consulting with external agencies and organizations to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Licensed in the state(s) of practice or eligible for reciprocity required.
• Team members will obtain within 6 months and maintain annual educational requirements for EPIC certification(s) as required by department.
• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.
• Requires 3 years of experience as a pharmacist. Alternatively, requires completion of PGY1 residency and PGY2 residency in pharmacy informatics.
• Ability to function as the interface between clinicians and other technical experts, analyzing business and clinical processes, and providing user advanced training/education.
• Ability to define project goals and create project plans which includes research, modeling, identifying milestones, and resource allocation plans.
• Effective decision-making and problem solving skills.
• Conceptual knowledge of information applications and system integration.
• Understanding of pharmacy information systems and the capabilities of available technologies in the marketplace.
• Maintains clinical pharmacist expertise in order to appropriately apply to electronic medical record work.
• Understanding of cultural and organizational change management processes, including workflow analysis, process redesign, and benefits analysis/measurement.
• Establishing excellent working relationships with individuals and teams at various levels from various fields of expertise.
• Excellent communication skills to interpret, present, and lead projects in coordination with various clinical and administrative leaders.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access desirable
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time and may occasionally need to stand.
• Will occasionally lift up to 35 lbs. without assistance.
• Must have functional speech, vision, and hearing.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job

• Experience with medication records, formularies, medication shortages, CNR/dispense prep, labeling, interfaces, automated dispensing systems, or infusion pumps
• Ability to translate clinical decisions and operational needs into clear system build requirements
• Ability to facilitate effective cross-functional decision-making
• Proactive identification and communication of risks
• Ability to work independently while appropriately seeking peer review and collaboration
• Doctor of Pharmacy preferred.
• PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and PGY2 Pharmacy Informatics Residency preferred
• Board certification in area of practice or certification strongly recommended.
