About The Position
The Pharmacist In Charge (Retail) will be responsible for preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians, and managing the overall day-to-day pharmacy responsibilities. This role requires ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, maintaining patient profiles, and managing medication inventory.
Requirements
- Current License to practice (PharmD)
- Fluent in the English Language
- Previous leadership experience
- Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
- Min. 3 years’ pharmacy manager experience
- Previous retail pharmacy experience
- Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree
- Active pharmacy license for the state of New York
- Min 5 years or more of retail pharmacy experience
Responsibilities
- Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
- Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
- Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
- Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
- Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
- Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
- Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
- Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
- Ensure that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
- Ensure that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
- Direct the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues
- Manage the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations
