Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) required; PharmD preferred.
  • Valid Oregon state pharmacist license.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider – can be certified through employer during hiring process. CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification will be provided upon hire.
  • At least two (2) years of professional job experience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees all aspects of the pharmacy's operations.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state pharmacy laws.
  • Manages inventory.
  • Supervises pharmacy staff.
  • Collaborates with clinical providers to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Ensures the pharmacy meets HRSA, 340B, and FQHC-specific requirements.
  • Delivers high-quality pharmaceutical care to underserved populations.
  • Responsible for pharmacy management and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensures proper preparation, review, verification, and dispensation of prescribed medication.
  • Provides positive customer service experience in accordance with the organization’s mission.
  • Supports efficient workflows in receiving and dispensing medications and inventory.
  • Oversees and directs the pharmacy technician staff and other Pharmacists.
  • Provides education to patients to enhance customer experience.
  • Ensures pharmacy operations comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Maintains licensure and certifications required by the Board of Pharmacy.
  • Oversees and ensures compliance with 340B Drug Pricing Program requirements, including eligibility, procurement, and audit readiness.
  • Directly oversees and supervises pharmacy personnel, including Pharmacists and technicians. This includes managing timecards, workflows, and employee relations.
  • Provides guidance to leadership on operating the pharmacy at the Roseburg clinic and supports dispensing services to other Aviva Health locations.
  • Works collaboratively with the 340B Program Manager to oversee the 340B program.
  • Works with multidisciplinary health care team to provide drug information and assist in monitoring patient drug therapies.
  • Works with Aviva Health leadership and staff to optimize pharmacy operations and to achieve the goals, objectives, and budget established by Aviva Health’s Board of Directors.
  • Prepares medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
  • Packages, labels, and dispenses medication.
  • Responsible for supervising and directing technicians’ workflows, including verifying prescription entries, preparation of medications, and labeling of medications.
  • Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
  • Develops clinical staff’s pharmacological knowledge by participating in provider meetings and training health care professionals, residents, and students.
  • Complies with all state and federal drug laws, including, but not limited to, those as regulated by the state board of pharmacy and the drug enforcement administration.
  • Maintains records for controlled substances and removes outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
