About The Position

Administers the dispensing of medication to patients accurately and provides patient education. Responsible for the daily operations of the pharmacy department, communicating with prescribers, and assisting patients with healthcare concerns. Participates in patient-centered services like immunizations and Medication Therapy Management (MTM). Provides friendly, helpful, and efficient service to customers.

Requirements

  • Licensed and registered Pharmacist in good standing within the state of practice.
  • Immunization Certification or agreement to complete.
  • Ability to communicate effectively: verbal, written and electronic.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage others.
  • Ability to resolve customer issues quickly and creatively.

  • General knowledge of pharmacy computer systems and automated dispensing systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Must have a Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must submit to DL Monitoring.
  • Some overnight hotel stays required.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Complies with all applicable federal, state laws, pharmacy regulations, and company policies.
  • Prepares and dispenses prescription medications, including record maintenance, third-party adjudication, patient charges, and inventory management.
  • Counsels patients and medical providers on drug usage, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
  • Monitors patient health and progress to ensure compliance and optimize therapies.
  • Participates in patient-centered services including immunization, MTM, and wellness programs.
  • Supervises pharmacy personnel in daily operations and ensures compliance with policies.
  • Provides guidance and training to pharmacy interns, technicians, and associates, and monitors performance.
  • Uses professional judgment to provide exemplary service within the pharmacist's scope of practice.
  • Participates in business development activities in the store and community.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement programs to ensure patient safety.
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized workstation and department facilities.
  • Completes required continuing education programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
